The Public Safety 2000 (PS 2000) project for Montgomery County, Maryland established the state-of-the-art public safety infrastructure for the County. This included 800 digital trunk radio, mobile data and MDT terminals, E911, new dispatching centers, and public safety applications such as CAD/GIS, RMS, and external interfaces.
YES Inc. teamed with the prime systems integrator to successfully perform a task order to integrate the wireless LAN systems into the PS 2000 architecture for automatic transfer of large files (e.g., geofiles, to/from MDTs). The tasks included the needs assessment, alternative technical solutions tradeoff & financial analysis, functional & technical requirements and architecture development, implementation schedule & the life cycle cost estimation for the recommended wireless LAN solution.
YES Inc. has successfully performed another task order to assess the potential performance impact of a newly establishing the Automatic Field Report (AFR) system over Motorola mobile data infrastructure (RNC) and provide recommendation for the potential mitigation techniques. This task includes quantitative and qualitative analysis of current and future wireless data radio loading, with or without the field based reporting system.
